Avalon's Treasury - Jewelry, Gems & Minerals
In the middle of the 19th century during excavations in the Valley of Kings in the tomb of the Egyptian priest Jua a ring made of Aswan sandstone was found. According to old legends the Egyptians were visited by the inhabitants of Atlantis during the reign of pharaoh Senedj in the second dynasty who gave their knowledge to the Egyptian priests. The found ring is more then 5000 years old and seems to be manufactured by the inhabitants of Atlantis - today the ring is owned by the French archeologist De Bélizal.
The pattern of the ring shows 6 squares, 3 lines and 2 equilateral triangles: Just like pyramids focus cosmic energies this ring seems to attract positive wave frequencies thereby forming an energetic shield of protection, which rejects negative influences and defends against dangers. As it was described by the French investigator Roger de Lafforest in his book "Ces maisons qui tuent" it not only protects from terrestrial radiation and negative forces but also influences the subconscious in a positive way and many people wearing this ring report about financial success and luck at play and in love.
The effects of the ring seem to be independent of the used materials or of any magnetic or psychic charging and therefore also pendants using the pattern of this ring are manufactured nowadays.
This smaller pendant is designed for women and perfectly adjusts to the frequencies of its wearer in the cause of time - it should therefore not be lend or given away once it has been worn by a specific person. The pendant is said to support its wearer in developing her full potential. If it is worn during meditating or while sleeping this piece of jewelry is said to enhance the intuition and the mental powers of its wearer since it balances body, mind and spirit.
This pendant is made of Sterling Silver. Sterling is also called 925 Silver and consists of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals. Because of its high quality it is the most frequently used and most popular silver for the production of jewelry. Its name is derived from the Sterling coins that were used in Great Britain until 1920 and which consisted of exactly the same silver alloy.

We were always fascinated by pieces of jewelry designed according to historical artwork and magical and other old motifs are a main area of our jewelry collection until today. Nowadays we all are surrounded by designs and motifs from all over the world which we usually choose according to visual aspects without considering the original meaning and symbolism of the various depictions. For sure the beauty of the different designs and materials is a good reason for selecting them but the affinity to a special piece of jewelry or art craft can be enhanced if one knows its deeper meaning and its origin. For this reason we always placed value on the accurate representation and information explaining the various pieces of jewelry in our collection.
Since the beginning of mankind jewelry served several different purposes. Already before the invention of money it was for example used as a kind of currency, as a status symbol or as a valuable asset that even could be passed on to future generations. Many pieces of jewelry also had a functional purpose like it is the case with fastenings for clothes, safety pins and belt buckles. However, at a more spiritual level the jewelry also had a symbolic meaning, showed the affiliation to and the status in a social group, and was worn for the protection from evil or simply to show one's own taste.
Since jewelry is such a diverse cultural asset the meaning of a given piece can depend on the point of view and beliefs of its creator. For example many cultures developed pieces of jewelry showing to others whether its wearer is married or single: In our Western world these are the wedding rings while in African countries e.g. special bracelets or necklaces are worn for this purpose. Whether we are talking about weddings jewelry or talismans and amulets that were used for protection - often the decorations and materials determine the symbolic meaning of a piece of jewelry.
Not only the used symbols and decorations differ strongly between the cultures - a huge number of different materials were also used in the course of time. In the beginnings especially shells and pearls of wood and bone were used, because these natural materials were readily available and could easily be processed. Later the precious metals silver and gold became more and more important and also the use of precious stones increased. Nowadays all possible materials are used to underline the meaning of a piece of jewelry even further thereby creating pendants and other jewelry that could not be designed using traditional materials.
Also the piece of jewelry on this page http://www.aval
