OuroborosPendant, Pewter The Ouroboros shows head and tail of a snake entwining itself and biting in its own tail end. This pendant therefore symbolizes security in life and is said to help its wearer to reach long-term goals. After all the Ouroboros is an ancient symbol of cosmic eternity and the cycle between beginning and end. This pendant is made of pewter, a shiny, soft metal which is very malleable and has a good tarnish resistance. Artists and craftsmen used pewter quite early (dinnerware, sculptures, household articles, pewter figures, jewelry) and hence pewter jewelry has a long tradition. The word pewter is probably a variation of the word spelter, a colloquial name for the same metal. This piece of jewelry can be gilded
