Flying Fire Dragon - Pendant

Since the beginning of human civilization dragons could be found in the myths of many cultures. To the Celts the flying fire dragon meant untamed power and sexual energy arising from eternal love and affection. Like the element of fire itself this dragon symbolizes impulsive energy and untamed lust for life according to Celtic belief.
 
This pendant is made of pewter, a shiny, soft metal which is very malleable and has a good tarnish resistance. Artists and craftsmen used pewter quite early (dinnerware, sculptures, household articles, pewter figures, jewelry) and hence pewter jewelry has a long tradition. The word pewter is probably a variation of the word spelter, a colloquial name for the same metal.
